Michael Britten and family make their home in a suburban Los Angeles house with at least two bedrooms. It has a typical complement of household items such as a washing machine.

It is also a treasure trove of memories for Michael. It's got boxes of mementos from his courtship with Hannah and from Rex's childhood, such as a children's book entitled "That's Not My Penguin." There is also a scrapbook containing an ingeniously designed paper airplane made by Kate Porter.
